‘Do Not Use Force or Lathi Charge during Lockdown’ – Dr Harsha
Mangaluru: Police Commissioner Dr Harsha in his voice message has strictly advised the police personnel not to use the force of resort to lathi charge on the public while they come out to purchase essentials supplies.
On March 27, in a voice message, Dr Harsha strictly advised the policemen and said, “If people do not get essential supplies they will come to the streets. Please don’t stop the goods vehicles. During the thermal screening, if you find any driver with fever, put the vehicle to a side and provide him treatment. If the driver or conductor is healthy do not stop the vehicle. “
Dr Harsha further advised and said, “The government staff, bank employees or vehicles holding G number plates should be allowed. The DC has issued clear instructions mentioning who are exempted with passes, I will send a copy of the same to every officer. Today the AC will issue passes and those who with passes will be allowed to travel within the city and districts. Any vehicles or persons from Kerala should not be allowed into Mangaluru.
Dr Harsha stressed and said, “It is important that the police should not resort to lathi charge or use force. Please do not complicate the situation. I repeat do not lose your patience and use force. Have patience and perform your duty. This is a very complicated and serious situation and we all should understand.
