Doctor from Andhra among four Indians killed in crash

Hyderabad: Dr Nukavarapu Manisha from Unguturu of Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh was among the four Indians that perished in the ghastly Ethiopian Airlines plane crash on early Sunday morning.

Manisha was the second daughter of N Venkateswara Rao and Bharathi. Manisha was on her way to Nairobi in Kenya where her elder sister Lavanya is residing.

According to sources in Guntur, Manisha who has completed her MBBS from the Guntur Medical College later went to the USA for her master’s degree. She was doing her internship in Johnson City, Tennessee. She took a flight to Addis Ababa and changed to the ill-fated aircraft to Kenya to visit her sister who recently gave birth to triplets. Within minutes into the second flight, she lost her life.

“As her parents are now in Nairobi which is only two hours of distance from the spot of the crash, they will be reaching there to identify her body. We have been told by the external affairs ministry that bodies could be hard to recognize,” a close friend of her family in Unguturu told reporters. Dr Manisha’s relatives remember her as very intelligent who has always achieved her goals through determination. She studied in Guntur right from her seventh standard.
