Don Bosco School Shirva Principal Fr Mahesh D’Souza laid to rest
Udupi: Fr Mahesh D’Souza principal of Don Bosco English School Shirva was laid to rest on Tuesday, October 15 evening, at Our Lady of Health Church cemetery, Shirva.
The funeral mass of Fr Mahesh D’Souza was presided over by Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese along with bishop emeritus Dr Aloysius Paul D Souza, Msgr Baptist Menezes Vicar General of Udupi Diocese, and more than 150 priests from both the diocese.
In his homily Fr Royson Fernandez Editor of Uzvaad fortnightly said “The birth and even death of a person leaves behind a message to the people. Fr Mahesh lived his life with the spirit of beatitudes. He said that death is the door that we all have to pass through to go to heaven.”
At the end of the Mass, as a mark of respect, different representatives laid wreaths and garlands over the remains of the deceased Fr Mahesh D’souza.
On behalf of the Diocese Fr. Stany Tauro former parish priest of Shirva, from church community ZP member Wilson Rodrigues and the School vice principal Ireen Cardoza delivered the condolence messages.
MLC Ivan D’Souza, Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA J R Lobo, U R Sabhpathi, Alvas Education Society chairman Dr Mohan Alva, Udupi district BJP chief Mattar Rathnakar, Hegde, Kaup Thasildar Mohammed Isaac, Shirva SI Abdul Khader paid their last respects to Fr Mahesh.
