Don’t be too confident, Sonia tells Karnataka Congress

Mumbai: There is a bit of advice for the Karnataka Congress from none other than former Congress president Sonia Gandhi: be confident and not be too confident.

“Karnataka is a very important state for us…we have to do our best to return to power,” she said at the India Today conclave in Mumbai. “Our people there are quite confident, however, it is better not to be too confident but to work very hard till the very last day,” she said.

On the prospects of the Congress, she said the party did well in recent bye-elections in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. “We won three seats – one Assembly and two Lok Sabha in Rajasthan…we won two Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh,” Sonia said.
