Such incidents are acts that are against the law and are nothing but rowdyism, and will not be tolerated. If associations or persons have proper information of Cattle trafficking they should inform the police department and police will take necessary action. No one will be allowed to take the law into their hands. If anyone wants to act like the police then they should join police department during the police selection process or else they can join as home guards.

Referring to the recent attacks by suspected right-wing activists on two plantation labourers from Assam in Chikkamagaluru, after accusing them of being “Bangladeshi terrorists” he said that maximum numbers of labourers are coming from Assam and West Bengal to work in the coffee plantations. We have instructed the estate owners to verify the workers’ identities before hiring them. We have also instructed them to take their Adhar Card and Voter ID details before hiring them, he added.

He also said, “There is a gap between the police and public in this region, I have decided to hold Janasamparka Sabhe every month to instill confidence in the people about the police department. We have also planned to hold Drug awareness and compulsory helmet wearing programmes for college students in the coming days”.

Traffic management will be a major challenge for the police in the city, but it can be solved with the help of CMC. We will organize meetings with City Municipal council for traffic management, he added.
