Dr Ambedkar Jayanthi Celebrated at St Aloysius College-B Ed and St Aloyisu Colle AC-Industrial Technical Institute-Mangaluru
Mangaluru: {St Aloysius B. Ed College observes Ambedkar Jayanthi}. The 127th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, architect of Indian Constitution was observed in St Aloysius B. Ed College on 14 April, 2018. The commemoration began with the lighting of the lamp by the staff and the members of the students’ council. Benica BS and team offered prayers for the nation, politicians, law makers and teachers.
Dr (Mrs) Farita Viegas (Principal) in her speech highlighted the remarkable efforts and contributions made by Dr BR Ambedkar in protecting social rights of women, outlawing all forms of discrimination, abolition of untouchability, reservation system for the SC and the ST, economic equality, political freedom and fraternity. She threw light on the need and importance of commemorating the birth of Ambedkar in today’s context and urged the trainees to inculcate the values enshrined in the preamble of the Constitution to create a peaceful society.
Esther and Britto (cultural secretary) made a PowerPoint presentation of highlighting the various phases of Ambedkar life and his efforts in framing Constitution. Amith D’Souza SJ (students’ council president) and Royal Saldanha SJ (secretary for English methodology) conducted a quiz competition on Ambedkar’s life and Constitutional provisions. The winners were acknowledged with prizes.
Thejaswi welcomed the gathering. Glanet D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks. Saritha compered the programme. Mrs Sandhya (Lecturer) organized the event. National Anthem was sung at the end of the programme

St Aloysius ITI Mangaluru celebrated 127th Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanthi in Samipya Hall on 14th April 2018. The ex-deputy Mayor Rajaneesh Kapikad was the chief guest and Jerald D Silva lecturer in St Aloysius College was invited as guest of honour. Vincent Mendonsa principal welcome the gathering and Wilson lead the prayer and hosted the program.
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s life journey was presented through a video clip to inspire the gathering.In this occasion ex-deputy Mayor Mr.Rajaneesh Kapikad, Mr.Jerald and Principal Mr.Vincent Mendonsa lighten the lamp, offered the flowers and garland to Dr. B R Ambedkar’s photo. Mr. Rajaneesh Kapikad gave the inspiring message on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s deeds to students.
Jerald D’silva also gave the message to youths to follow Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as a role model. Later on the students performed the stage function. Vice Principal Roshan D’souza offered the vote of thanks at the end of the programme.
