Dr Harsha Transfered, Vikas Kumar New Police Commissioner
Mangaluru: Police commissioner Dr Harsha has been transferred to Bengaluru and Vikas Kumar has been appointed as new police commissioner of Mangaluru city here on June 26.
Dr Harsha took charge as the police commissioner of Mangaluru Commissionerate on August 9, 2019. Dr Harsha IPS, a Kannadiga, has his roots in the rich cultural fort city of Chitradurga. A doctor by learning and police officer by profession, he is a 2004 batch IPS officer who chose civil services immediately after completing his MBBS. Dr Harsha is a multifaceted personality who believes in living life to the fullest. An avid traveller who likes travelling in the western ghats, he has a deep interest in wildlife conservation. On the professional count, Dr Harsha has handled many assignments with multifarious roles.
Dr Harsha has been transferred as Deputy Inspector General and Commissioner, Information and Public Relations, Bengaluru.
Vikas Kumar IPS working as the Deputy Inspector General of Police and Commander, Anti Naxal Force Karkala has been transferred with immediate effect and posted until further orders as Deputy Inspector General and Commissioner of Police Mangaluru City.
