Dr Vinay Hegde inaugurates Seminar on Civil Services ‘Art of Success’ by Guru A K Mishra

Mangaluru: Bunts Yane Nadavara Mathr Sangha in association with Chanakya IAS Academy held a Seminar on Art of Success by Guru A K Mishra at the City Town Hall here on September 18.

The programme began with an invocation. The president of BYNMS Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by the Chancellor of Nitte University Dr N Vinay Hegde by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.

Addressing the gathering Dr Vinay Hedge said, “This is an important seminar for students. Time has come for students who are brilliant. Rather looking at a profession outside the administrative set-up, they must start looking at the places where they can take some decisions as Balakrishna Shetty has done in his life. In a democratic country, the most important part is the parliament, judiciary, and the executive. When we are talking about civil service, definitely the civil servants will decide the future of the country and to which direction the country should move. The Parliament will make a law, the Supreme court interprets the law and the executives decide how to implement the law. I see a large number of bright people getting into the civil services”.

Dr Vinay Hedge further said, “Earlier there were only two colleges in Dakshina Kannada but now we are seeing a number of colleges in the twin districts. DK is the home for quality education. Recently, DK and Udupi in the PU examinations got the first three ranks in Karnataka. Thousands of students pass out every year and achieve excellence. Many students like to opt for medical, engineering or other courses. Once they complete they look for a job such as in the bank or industries and many feel that this will be the end of their pursuit of excellence. You have to understand that life is much beyond that, a job in a bank or industry or any organization is restricted to your welfare. If you really want to do something for the community or country, you have to take the challenge and join the civil services”.

Vinay Hedge also said, “Once you finish your graduation, develop your mindset into thinking that this is not the end of your education. You have to get into some competitive examinations which will take you in the field of your choice. There is a perception that Civil services are not good. Time will prove that civil servants will decide which direction the country will move. Neither the politicians nor the judiciary can interpret the decision taken by the parliament. It is only the civil servants who do or execute it. I am sure the pleasure you will see your country growing obviously is something beyond explanation. For the first time, the Bunts Sangha has created a platform for the students to give training in civil service. Take up this opportunity and make use of this. Change must happen in DK because DK is producing hundreds of thousands of brilliant students looking for a job and not looking at the responsibility they have in building this country, which is a sad part. Success Guru A K Mishra must take some innovative procedure and I assure that there will not be another great place to have great IAS, IFS and IPS officers than Dakshina Kannada. I am sure many of the students have the capacity to do it, change your mindset, don’t look for a job, the opportunity is in front of you to serve the cause of the country and help the people through civil service.”

Ambassador Balakrishna Shetty IFS and Former CEO of Prasar Bharathi S C Panda IAS (Retd) also spoke on the occasion. Success Guru A K Mishra, Vasanth Shetty, Kavu Hemanath Shetty, Ravindranath S Shetty, Kenchanur Somanath Shetty and others were also present.

Dr Ashajyothi Rai compered the programme. Head strategy Chanakya IAS Academy Yachcneeth Pushkarna delivered the vote of thanks.
