Dr Vincent Alva Takes charge as principal of Milagres College, Kallianpur

Udupi: Dr Vincent Alva, Associate Professor of English at Milagres College, Kallianpur assumed the office of the Principal at the same College on June 1st, 2017. The outgoing Principal Dr Gerald Pinto handed over the charge to Dr Vincent Alva through Fr Stany B Lobo, Correspondent of the Milagres Institutions.

Dr Gerald Pinto, before handing over the charge, thanked the Management for giving him an opportunity to serve the institution as a lecturer for 33 years and as the Principal for almost a year. He narrated his saga of journey at Milagres and expressed happiness over his achievements.

Fr Stany B Lobo praised the hard work of Dr Gerald Pinto and acclaimed that he is a man of upright nature and an exemplary teacher. He also pointed out the selfless nature of the service rendered by Dr Gerald. The correspondent welcomed the new Principal Dr Vincent Alva and wished him good luck in steering the college further to greater success. He also expressed his confidence in Dr Alva’s capacity to continue the good work done by his predecessors.

Dr Vincent Alva, after assuming the office of the Principal, thanked the management through the Correspondent for appointing him as Dr Gerald Pinto’s successor as the Principal of the college. He assured those gathered to uphold the dignity and honour of the post of the principal and expressed his confidence to do the best to reach the goals set by the institution.

Mialgres College, Kallianpur, recently celebrated the Golden Jubilee of its inception.

Former Principal Dr Nery Cornelio, Campus Director Fr Dr Prakash Anil Castelino, P.U Principal Savitha, Retired Staff Prof. Peter D’Souza, Prof. Subramanya Joshi, Prof Cyril Mathias, Rayan Mathias and other Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of the college were present on the occasion.
