Udupi: A Bakery owner was seriously injured after being hit by a Ritz car driven by students who were allegedly drunk at Salmara near Kolalgiri here on January 2.
According to an eye witness, the Bakery owner Appu Bangera was on his way to Kolalgiri from Santhekatte on his two-wheeler after closing his Bakery, four youth who were speeding on a Ritz car bearing registration KA 19 MD 1187 towards Santhekatte rammed into Appu Bangera’s two-wheeler near Salmara Cross, Kolalgiri.
Appu was seriously injured in the accident, he was immediately shifted to the hospital. Sources at the hospital said that his condition is critical.
Passerby’s who had witnessed the incident immediately alerted the Brahmavar police who rushed to the spot and shifted Appu Bangara to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested all the four students namely Gagan N, Sahas Rao, Adithya and Nikhil HD, they are studying in reputed colleges in Udupi. Police are suspecting that it might be a case of drunken driving, they have found liquor bottles in the car.
Brahmavar Police have registered a case and investigation is on.
