Driver injured in bus-truck collision at Hemmadi
Kundapur: A truck driver was seriously injured, in a head-on collision involving a bus and a truck on NH 66 at Hemmadi, Kundapur here on December 13.
According to the police, the accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. when a private bus plying towards Dharmasthala from Belagavi collided head-on into a fish-laden truck while attempting to overtake another vehicle.
Due to the impact, the truck driver was stuck inside the truck, locals helped in taking the driver out from the truck and shifting him to the hospital. The identity of the injured truck driver is yet to be known. None of the Bus passengers were injured in the incident.
A case has been registered in Kundapur Police Station.
