Driver Safely Stops Tempo after Brake Failure, Major Tragedy Averted
Karkala: The election commission flying squad and police officials miraculously escaped from being injured after the brakes of a tempo traveller failed near Hebri – Someshwar Check post here on April 30.
According to SP Laxman Nimbargi, the election commission flying squad officials along with the police and CRPF soldiers were on duty at Hebri – Someshwar Check post. While they were checking the vehicles, a tempo traveller which was coming from Kengeri hit the barricades that were placed at the check post. The driver of the Tempo traveller Venkataraju C (26) was able to control the vehicle and avoided a major incident. No injuries were reported. The incident was occurred due to the brake failure of the Tempo Traveller. The driver skillfully manoeuvred the vehicle avoiding a major tragedy. The incident was recorded in the nearby CC TV camera.
“I have already provided reflector type jackets, traffic batons and instructed to take precautions at the check post. The barricades have been erected at the checking point”, said SP Laxman Nimbargi.
