Driver Suffers Heart Attack in Moving Bus near Mulki – Passengers Safe
Mulki: In most cases in DK and Udupi districts, the drivers and conductors of private buses get their wages on the basis of daily collections, and not on regular payment basis.
This is said to be the main cause for ‘competition’ amongst the city and intercity buses. This leads to stress and health problems also.
This was perhaps the case when a bus from Mangaluru was on its way to Kollur on Saturday. As it reached Kolnad near here, the driver reportedly suffered a heart attack and he lost control over it.
Fortunately enough, it only swerved to a side and landed in a drain and not beyond. The passengers had a lucky escape.
The driver was admitted to a private hospital in Manglauru.
