Drug Peddlers Arrested by CCB Police, 5 Kg Ganja Seized
Mangaluru: The CCB police have arrested Ganja peddlers near Surabhi Hotel, Bejai Kapikad here on February 16.
The arrested have been identified as Abdul Amsad C H (27), from Bantwal and Uday Kumar Rai (30) from Yekkur, Kankanady.
According to the police, on February 15, after getting information from reliable sources, about drug trafficking into Dakshina Kannada district, the CCB police raided a place near Surabhi Hotel, Kapikad and arrested two persons who were selling Ganja.
The police seized 5 Kg Ganja and 3 mobile phones from their possession all worth Rs 1.6 lakh. During interrogation, the accused revealed that the Ganja was purchased in Idukki, Kerala and brought to Mangaluru. The accused Uday Kumar Rai is involved in various crimes including 6 Ganja related cases filed in Panambur, Barke and Bajpe police stations, cases have also been filed in the state of Kerala. The accused have been handed over to the Urwa police station for further investigation.
Under the able guidance of Police commissioner Chandra Sekhar, DCP Law and order Shantharaju and DCP Crime and Traffic Dr Sanjeev Patil the operation was carried out by CCB Inspector Sunil Y Nayak, PSI Sham Sundar and team.
