Drunk Son Kills Mother
Kundapur: A 68-year-old woman was killed by her own drunk son in her house on Friday, May 27 at Balkur near Basruru, Kundapur Taluk, here.
The deceased has been identified as Sadhu Poojary (68), wife of late Annayya Poojary. Rama Poojary (41) is the accused.
Sadhu Poojary and her son Rama Poojary lived in their house in Balkur. Rama Poojary used to drink frequently. On Friday night, Rama Poojary started an argument with his mother Sadhu for money. The argument took an ugly turn when Rama, in a fit of rage, killed his mother.
The neighbours did not think much when they over-heard the argument in the night but when they went to Sadhu’s house in the morning, they found her dead.
Kundapur DySP Manjunath Shetty, CPI Naseer Hussain and the Kundapur police visited the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to the Government Hospital Kundapur. The police have taken Rama Poojary into their custody.
The Kundapur Police have registered the case.
