Drunken man Threatens woman with knife
Mangaluru: The police arrested a drunken man who tried to attack a woman at Kalpane, Kulshekar here on September 12.
The arrested has been identified as Ramesh (50), a resident of Kuchikad, Kalpane.
Speaking to mangalorean.com Vimala (name changed), said, “From the past two days Ramesh was coming near our compound gate and troubling our servant. On September 12, at around 11:55 am, he once again came near our house and started to trouble me. My husband got angry and shouted at him to go away. Angered Ramesh brought a knife and threatened me. My husband called the Mangaluru Rural police station and complained. Immediately the cops reached the spot and took the person into their custody”.
Later the Mangaluru Rural police handed over Ramesh to the Kadri police as the area was under their jurisdiction.
Speaking to mangalorean.com the police said, “We have warned Ramesh and after taking an undertaking from him released him”. Ramesh apologised and said, “I was in an inebriated state and did not remember what I did”.
