The Namo Brigade and other Hindu outfits have been organising a programme called Kanaka Nade. The founder of Namo Brigade Chakravarty Sulibele, VHP Udupi district unit president Vilas Nayak, Bajrang Dal Convenor Dinesh Mendon, Sri Ram Sene leader Pramod Muthalik and others are behind organising of Kanaka Nade.

The programme aims at cleaning the streets in which the Dalits marched during the Udupi Chalo event. If any such event is organised we will hold severe agitation, the forum warned.

The event itself questions the constitutional integrity, the organisers should be booked under the SC/ST Atrocities Act.

The Swabhimani event will be held during the Kanaka Nade programme. The organisers have asked for police protection.

Bhaskar Prasad, Ananth Nayak, Harish Naik and others met the DGP and submitted a memorandum.
