After the formal welcome, the crowd was divided into 4 different groups. Each group was distinguished with white, green, silver and golden colored ribbons.

The excitement began with the warm up game called ‘Fire in the mountain’, followed by a Dodge ball game. The participation of the young and the old in this game created a good picnic atmosphere among the participants.

As planned by the organizers, this picnic was especially organized for the children to encourage their talents and develop their relationship with each other. Many games were conducted especially for the children like the three-legged race for the kids under the age of 15 years. It was great fun and good to see the enthusiasm and participation among the children.

The competition for women was Tying jasmine flowers, the flowers were brought by the organizers from Moodubelle and it was the main attraction. Women participated in large numbers to tie the jasmines, which brought back memories of home. The crowd applauded the organizers for the unique competition, which is the first of its kind in a gulf county.

Organizers also arranged many new innovative and fun loving games throughout the day which were enjoyed by the crowd. Games such as wheelbarrow, three-legged race, picking the coin, tossing the water balloon, lime and the spoon race, and many more were also held. Many individual games for women, men, young and old were also conducted by the organizers.

The well spent day came to end with a game of ‘antakshari’ among the teams. Prizes were distributed to the winners. The top two teams with highest points were declared as winners.

The entire picnic day was very well planned and organized. About 150 adults and 30 kids gathered as one family at the Zabeel Park Karama. The hard-work of the organizers was appreciated by the senior Balleans as well as the crowd, who requested that such events be conducted at regular intervals. The organizers thanked the entire crowd. The games were conducted by Renita Mathias, Cyprian Castelino, Jaison Miranda and Ivan Menezes.
