DYFI and CPM Members Gherao MCC, Arrested
Mangaluru: The members of the DYFI and CPM jointly staged a protest in front of the Mangaluru City Corporation on April 13, against the alleged artificial water crisis in the City.
Addressing the protesters Sunil Kumar Bajal blamed the Mayor and said, “Under the influence of the Tanker Mafia the Mayor has created artificial water crisis in the city. There is water in the Thumbay dam but we are getting water once in 4 days. The people in the city are facing severe water crisis. Water should be supplied every day”, he said.
The protesters then attempted to Gherao the Mangaluru city corporation. 32 protesters were taken into custody.
State President of DYFI Muneer Katipalla, B K Imtiyaz, Santhosh Bajal, Sadiq Kannur, Naushad Bengre, Yogish Jappinamogeru, Santhosh Shaktinagar, Manoj Vamanjoor, Asha Boloor, Vasudev Uchil and others were also present.
