EC books case against INTUC for violation of poll code of conduct in Sastan

Udupi: The Election Commission has registered a case of violation of poll code of conduct which was reported in the Congress INTUC office Sastan under the Kota police station limits on Friday, March 30.

According to the police, the accused Sathish Poojary and Sharath, members of INTUC were campaigning for Congress in the INTUC office they were filling the forms of applicants for various insurance schemes. The pamphlets and posters in the office were carrying photographs of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Minister Santhosh Lad and the State INTUC president and also Kundapur Assembly constituency Congress ticket aspirant Rakesh Malli. They were pamphlets and posters carrying the messages of campaigning in the office.

Kota police have lodged an FIR under IPC Sections 171 C, 171 F and 127 A of the RP Act.
