EC files Complaint for Campaigning in Favour of BJP on Social Media
Udupi: The Udupi Town police have registered a case against Akshay Shetty here on April 14 for campaigning in favour of the BJP and violating the election model code of conduct.
According to the complaint by Pramod S R and Manju, a case has been registered in the Udupi Town Police station. Akashay P Shetty had shared BJP related posts on the Udupi BJP Social Media Facebook Page ‘Thrishool’. He also shared derogatory remarks against the Congress Party while asking to vote for the BJP.
Pramod S R and Manju have also sent emails to the deputy commissioner and the chief election officer bringing the violation of the Model code of conduct to the notice.
The deputy commissioner accepted the complaint and instructed the election flying squad officer Dayananda Bennur to file a complaint against Akshay P Shetty for violating the model code of conduct.
As per the complaint by Dayananda Bennur, the Udupi Town police have registered the case.
