EC registers FIR against Weekly for Publishing Political Advt without Permission
Karkala: The election commission officials have registered a case against a weekly tabloid for publishing an advertisement without taking prior permission of the MCMC team.
Janabimba a weekly tabloid which was published from Karkala had carried an advertisement in favour of the Karkala Congress aspirant Muniyal Uday Shetty in the April 10–16 edition. The editor of the Tabloid, R Devaraya Prabhu did not obtain prior permission from the election commission.
The Karkala election returning officer A Krishna filed the model code violation complaint against the tabloid editor in the Karkala Town Police Station.
