Eco Friends Group celebrates ‘Sky Lantern Festival’ at Ravishankar Vidya Mandir
Mangaluru: The Eco friends Group in association with LG and Mangaorean.com celebrated pollution-free Diwali by leaving Sky Lantern in the air at Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir, Mary Hill, Konchady on November 4.
The programme was inaugurated by Cardiologist of KMC hospital Dr Padmanabh Kamath along with other dignitaries by releasing the Sky Lantern in the air.
Addressing the gathering Dr Padmanabh Kamath said, “I am surprised to see a large gathering for the Sky Lantern festival. I expected a small gathering but I was wrong. Today the Eco Friends Group is celebrating the Sky Lantern festival with a theme of pollution-free Diwali.”
Dr Padmanabh further said, “There are certain things in life. We can connect the rivers but its very difficult to connect human life. We are connecting human lives through ECG. We are distributing ECGs to villages so that we can connect human lives because our life is very much important and we value it.”
Dr Padmanabh also said, “Today the organizers have created a tailormade atmosphere to celebrate a pollution-free Diwali. I request all of you not to waste money behind firecrackers which create pollution. In fact, support the organizers to create a pollution free environment. On November 6 I will be distributing LED bulb with a beautiful pouch and a Diya to all my employees. The LED bulb will have a warranty of two years. Today I request everyone to come out of darkness and ignorance and lead a beautiful life.”
District Medical Officer Dr Rajeshwari Devi also spoke on the occasion and said that we should all help to create a pollution free environment in the city and make this city a beautiful place to live in.
Organizer Rajesh K delivered the vote of thanks. Dr Vinaya Poornima welcomed the gathering.
