Efficient Brainy Scam? ‘Reading/Learning Blindfolded Humanly Impossible’ – said Rtn Dr C R Kamath from Mangaluru-a super senior ophthalmologist and one of the senior most in his field of specialization in India, during a press meet regarding “Efficient Brainy” – a business dealing with Whole Brain Training and Super Sensory Development Program- which has been criticized by Rationalist Prof. Narendra Nayak and few others as Scamsters and Liars.

Mangaluru: A Press meet was held this evening, 15 November at Hotel Woodlands-Mangaluru about a very serious topic of claims of seeing without light falling on the retina. It was about a major scandal of defrauding parents of crores of rupees under the guise of making super geniuses of their children has been going on by a group of scamsters of an undertaking called as Efficient Brainy of Belgaum, now also running their branch in Puttur. The only proof they offer of that is that children can see without light from the object to be visualised falling on the retina of the eyes since they become super intelligent!

Addressing the media persons Dr C R Kamath said, “The claims made by Efficient Brainy that you can see and read blindfolded is totally not possible. There is no way you can see when you are blindfolded, and all this gimmick by this company is all false and scam. Reading and learning blindfolded is humanly impossible. It’s sad to note that even after this scam has brought to the knowledge of DC and Government, and still they have not taken action is unimaginable. As responsible citizens and parents, we need to raise our voices against such scam which is making children to lie and such practices need to be stopped immediately”.

President of Karnataka Ophthalmic Society Dr Sai Giridhar Kamath also speaking said, “The claims of some commercial undertakings that they have developed techniques to make children see without light from the object falling on the retina and are enticing parents into enrolling their children to such courses called by fancy names like Mid-Brain Activation, Whole Brain Development, Brain Balancing, Efficient Brainy etc. The techniques used by these businesses are simply magic tricks used by many of the same profession to entertain people.”

“I want the general public to know that till date no method has been devised to make the human being- adult or child to visualize anything without light from the object falling on the retina by some means or the other. All such claims to the contrary are fraudulent and must be viewed with caution. I would also like to caution the public about subjecting their children to such processes which have not been put to proper tests for their effects on the psyche of children. So beware of these scamsters and let your children not fall prey to these scamsters”, added Dr Sai Kamath.

Junior Shankar “Tejasvi”- one of the leading magicians in India, who as a representative of magicians been angered by passing off a magic trick as a sign of brain development/activation/balancing etc also demonstrated some tricks which have been similarly used by these scamsters. “The techniques used by these phoney businesses are nothing but scam and full of lies. They are making children also to lie’ said Tejasvi. Dr Venkatraya Bhandary, the director of Dr A V Baliga Hospital Udupi also said that there is no such thing where you can see/read blindfolded – and this brain development program by these commercial firms are simply money-making businesses and total scam. “Ophthalmologists and neurologists have been warning parents that subjecting their children to unknown processes which have not been properly evaluated could cause permanent damage to their mental health” added Dr Bhandary.

Also addressing the media, President of Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations-Prof. Narendra Nayak said, “It is strange that the district administration has not taken any action on our complaint dated 2nd September 2017 about a commercial undertaking called Efficient Brainy cheating the public at Puttur through its franchisee called as Smart brainy with claims of making super geniuses of children by a technique called as whole brain development program. They have also been claiming something called as DMIT which could be expanded as dermatoglyphics multiple intelligence tests, in other words, predicting the future of the child by his/her fingerprints! The premises where this process has been going on at Puttur had been visited by a team constituted by the DDPI as instructed by the DC on 17th September itself and despite the report having been submitted, which clearly says that there is no truth in the claim that the children’s brain has been developed or that they can read if the light from the object falling on the retina is blocked no action has been taken by the authorities which clearly shows a nexus between the two.”
