Elderly couple in Ambalpady lived and died together
Udupi: They lived and died together, an elderly couple breathed their last on the same day near Ram Mandir, Ambalpady here on July 21.
Somayya Shettigar (85) and Netravati (76) breathed their last on the same day due to age related health issues. Parents of three daughters and a son, Somayya and Netravati led an ideal married life with immense love for each other. Their bonding has also kept them together in their journey.
Somayya was admitted to a hospital following breathing problems and was later discharged, Nethravati was also admitted following age related health issues on the same day. Somayya’s health condition deteriorated after he was discharged and brought home where he breathed his last, following his death Nethravathi’s health condition also deteriorated and she too breathed her last. The funeral was conducted according to Hindu customs at Beedinagudde graveyard.
