Election Effect – 15-day Alcohol Ban in Gangolli Panchayat Limits
Kundapur: In what is considered as one of the rarest cases, the election commission is said to have decided to clamp a ban on the sale of alcohol for fifteen days during the election to a sole seat in Gangolli.
Usually, the restriction is imposed on two days during the polling and two days during the counting. But the election authorities have considered Gangolli as sensitive areas and polling booth, this step has been taken.
In view of the election to the single seat of a ward, the entire panchayat area will go dry for fifteen days.
Citizens in private said that they would keep enough stock well in advance or buy from outside the panchayat jurisdiction.
