Los Angeles, Jan 16 (IANS) Actress Emily Blunt and her husband John Kraskinski were left terrified when they were “charged” by a shark while on honeymoon in 2010.
“It’s very scary… I know every shark looks like Jaws, but these really look like Jaws and they’re huge…and they swim very close. Emily never wanted to learn scuba diving and I was like ‘We’ll never get into trouble with sharks’,” Kraskinski told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“All of a sudden one broke off from the circle and started swimming behind us. I saw it and Emily didn’t. He started to charge Emily, so my decision was ‘If I spook her and she moves a lot, he might bite her.’ I just let it ride,” he added.
The shark drifted past Blunt and when she realised it was so close, her spouse was left terrified by what happened next.
“Air bubbles came out, she kind of passed out under water. All of her air just went to the top, it was pretty scary.”
Thankfully for the couple, a sea turtle then came and cheered up the 32-year-old actress.
“A sea turtle that came up, I’m not kidding, put his arm around her and then started petting her head. He hugged her. It was like he knew she had had a bad day and was like ‘Sorry about my buddy Terry, he gets real close on the flybys’,” Kraskinski said.
Kendall ‘freaked out’ over acne in high school
Model Kendall Jenner says she “freaked out” on her first day of high school because of acne.
She shared her facial skin problems with her fans on her website on Thursday, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star said that just right before she started high school in California, she got acne and it made her nervous and scared.
“I remember being really nervous for my first day of real high school. Right before I started, like the week before, is exactly when I started to get acne,” Kendall wrote.
“All of a sudden, out of nowhere, it just started. I was so freaked out and just kept waiting for it to pass, but it never did,” she added.
The 21-year-old also uploaded some of the photographs featuring herself wearing a cheerleader uniform with acne on her face.
Fortunately, she still had some loyal friends who were there to entertain her.
“Having all my friends from middle school with me made the day a little less scary – at least I wasn’t totally alone,” she wrote.
Khloe Kardashian likes to date athletes
Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian prefers to date athletes.
The 31-year-old, who split from her husband and former basketball player Lamar Odom in 2013 following four years of marriage, says she is still attracted to sportsmen, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Asked what her type is, Khloe said on “The Howard Stern Show”: “I mean, especially now that I’m athletic, I like athletes. I like to be active.”
But Khloe insists she doesn’t go hunting for love at basketball games, as she met her current sportsman boyfriend James Harden at a birthday party thrown by her sister Kim Kardashian.
She explained: “I don’t actually (go to the games). Kimberly threw Kanye a birthday party at the Staples Center, we rented it out, and she had all of his friends there and some athletes were playing basketball and so I met him there.”
Nile Rodgers knew David Bowie had ‘problems’
Musician Nile Rodgers knew late singer David Bowie had “problems”.
Rodgers, who was a good friend of Bowie, says he was kept in the dark about his illness but sensed something wasn’t right when he struggled while recording a video message during an awards ceremony in 2011, reports mirror.co.uk.
“I didn’t know David had liver cancer, but I knew he had problems back then,” Rodgers told The Sun newspaper.
“He sent a film for me and his speech was more deliberate than normal. Normally he speaks like you or I, and he’s quite lucid. He speaks fast and he’s brilliant and wonderful, but he really was quite deliberate in that film,” he added.
Bowie passed away on January 10 after battling cancer.
