Engineering Student Dies in Road Mishap at Puttur
Puttur: An Engineering student died after her two-wheeler hit a road median at Darbe Puttur here on October 25.
The deceased has been identified as Mariamma Samreena, from Kurnadka. She was the first year Engineering student from Sahyadri, Mangaluru.
According to sources, on October 25, when Samreena was riding her two-wheeler, at Darbe Puttur she lost control and crashed into the road median. With severe head injuries, she breathed her last on the way to the hospital.
It is learnt that Samreena was suffering from fever and her mother had advised her not to go to the college. But Samreena was on her way to the bus-stand on her two-wheeler to go to the college when the incident occurred.
A case has been registered in the Puttur Town Police station.
