Every Monday, Govt officials Will Work without Air Conditioners – DC Hephsiba Rani Korlapati
Udupi: Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, who has been encouraging government officials to use public transport at least once a week, has set an example by using the public transport to commute from home to the DC Office every Thursday. Now, she has decided to work without air conditioners in Government offices every Monday of the week.
According to the Udupi Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, “It has been decided to turn off all air conditioners in all government offices in Udupi district every Monday in order to reduce global warming temperatures”.
“As part of World Environment Day, to control air pollution, the district officials have decided to work without AC every Monday. By doing this the district administration will work towards reducing the temperature in the environment,” she said.
Hephsiba Rani has already declared that she would use public transport to commute to work every Thursday. As per orders, on Thursday i.e. June 6, Korlapati walked the talk by boarding the bus with Additional Deputy Commissioner Vidya Kumari and other district-level officials commuting from their homes to the office.
