Ex-Agnesian Leela Baikadi is a Pro Multi-Media Artist in USA

An alumni of St Agnes College, Mangaluru-Leela Baikadi is presently a Professional Multi-Media Artist in Pennsylvania-USA

Mangaluru: Leela has been involved with Arts since she was a little girl in India. She is a Multi- Media artist who has worked in various mediums including fine arts, textiles, quilting, theater, woodwork, digital media and more. Her current passion is photography and people.

Leela’s photography ranges from ordinary to extraordinary and exotic; she tends to focus on quick glimpses of life. She has held workshops; exhibited her artworks and photography often in USA. Leela is a freelance artist with a BFA with Distinction from School of Visual Arts of New York, and is an Alumni of Keystone College in Factoryville. In India, she is an Alumni of St Agnes College, Mangalore, and student of BGM Fine Arts. She is the mother of three grown children, a dedicated volunteer at her local library, and currently lives in Pennsylvania- USA with her husband.

Leela has worked in Various medias, and has also designed invitations for various events, like Bharata Natyam Arangetrams, Programs, Greeting Cards, and have done Stage designs, decorations etc for the programs, and such. She has also organized few bone marrow drives for the ‘be the Match “ program. She is an organic Gardner, a seamstress, also a quilter, and she loves to teach. Apart from that she is also a trustee in her local library, and teach computers, Quilt classes, Cooking Classes, Rangoli Classes, etc there.

Recently when she visited India, she had organized a Photo Exhibition at Prasad Art Gallery, Mangaluru at the urging of her niece and Nephew, Bhramari and Shiva Prakash Rao and chose Photography because of the limitations of travels. This India trip came just three days after her coming back from an South Africa trip. Leela says she loves to travel a lot, and has visited all seven continents so far. An watercolor image of hers is a permanent Signage in a local park in Pennsylvania-USA.
