Ex-judge Wife Files Complaint of Domestic Violence and Abortion against Husband
Udupi: A former judge of the fourth JMFC Court in Udupi has been accused of domestic violence and forcing abortion by his wife.
Varalakshmi in her complaint lodged with the Udupi Women’s Police Station here, on Monday, said she was married to Ashok Thimmaiah in 2012 in Kunigal.
She said during her stay with Ashok in Bengaluru, she was harassed for dowry by her in-laws.
Varalakshmi also alleged that her in-laws gave a death threat and had also threatened to burn her alive by pouring kerosene on her.
The couple has one child. She accused Ashok of selling all the gold ornaments, given by her parents as dowry during marriage. In June-July, 2018, when Varalakshmi was pregnant with the second child, she was forced to abort the child by Ashok.
Based on the complaint given by Varalaskhmi, a case was registered against Ashok under Sections 498 (A), 324, 504, 506, 313 along with 149 respectively of IPC.
