Mangaluru: Wow- I now love Whatsapp! And I love getting all those good and bad videos, good and nasty messages, because for a long long time I never had a Whatsapp account. And it has been fun these days to post some of the funniest or heart-touching videos that were received on my Whatsapp in Mangalorean.com, so that our readers also could enjoy them. And here is one video for today, which really touched me, and so I wanted it to share with you all- even though some of you might have already seen it, but for others, enjoy it on our web!
Gone are the days when people chased opportunities. The Internet has turned the tables; if you are genuinely talented, opportunities find their way to you at times. Social media has been playing a vital role in the recent times. And while giving the example of this video which went viral, shows that the social media has the power to transform a person’s life. Social media definitely has the power to make an individual famous and that is the thing that occurred in this situation. Well done. And a million thanks to the person who recorded her voice and put it on social media. He should also be given credit for his efforts- and the person who shot the video on his smart phone and posted on social media is Atindra Chakraborty, a 26-year old engineer. Great job buddy!
Numerous portals and social media pages are flooded with her videos where she can be seen singing Lata Mangeshkar’s chart busters one after another with effortless ease. As published in India Today, “It was a chance encounter,” Atindra Chakraborty, a 26-year old engineer who first heard Ranu singing a Mohammed Rafi number at Ranaghat station, said. “I was hanging out with my friends at a tea stall on platform No 6. A Rafi song was playing in the radio aloud. Suddenly I heard the lady humming to the tune, as she sat on the platform floor. I asked her if she could sing something for us. She sang a song and I recorded it on my mobile. We were surprised how melodious she was,” Chakraborty told India Today.
That evening, Chakraborty and his friends spent an hour with Ranu as she sang old melodies. They even got her some food and water. Two days later, on July 23, the young engineer posted Ranu’s video on Facebook and the rest is now history. In the following week, many people have volunteered to fetch her food and she has received numerous phone calls and even a makeover at a local beauty parlour!
In conclusion, no doubt, Ranu, has become India’s latest internet sensation. This is called fruit of labour! When we hear this, it just makes me feel so proud of India that produces so much talent and is so rich in culture. Hope all Ranu’s well-wishers are here to stay for a ‘makeover’ to her life! Her voice needs no makeover for sure! Best wishes to Ranu Mondal for her journey from Ranaghat Railway Station in West Bengal to stardom! There’s no dearth of talent in our country and this video, of a woman singing at a railway station in West Bengal, proves just that. Her melodious voice has not only left netizens amazed, many are saying she deserves a better platform and more recognition. The photographs of her makeover have just turned out to be viral on Facebook. See her drastic transformation in the pictures in this report.
