Fake Vehicle Registration Racket Busted, Two Held by CCB Police
Mangaluru: The CCB Police have busted a fake vehicle registration racket and arrested three persons on September 23.
The arrested has been identified as Naveen Noronha (41) from Ulaibettu and Vincent Sequeira (59) from Marcara Hills Bendur.
On getting information from reliable sources that the accused have issued a fake registration number to route number 3B KA 19 B 4866 and the bus was plying on Mangaluru -Moodshedde road, the CCB police checked the Chasis number of the bus at Moodshedde. During the inspection, CCB police found out that the bus 3B had a fake registration number and the chassis installed on the bus was that of another bus.
The accused Naveen Noronha revealed that he has created fake documents for two trucks and a JCB by giving fake registration numbers. The police have seized a bus, 2 trucks and a JCB all worth Rs 81.09 lakh.
The police are now searching for other accused, those who are involved in cheating the government by not paying taxes, taking the loan from finance companies and not returning the money. The accused are making a profit through illegal ways. They were stealing the Lorries and JCB’s and changing the Chassis and the Engines of those vehicles. They were creating fake documents for the stolen vehicles with a fake seal of the RTO.
The accused have been handed over to the Kavoor Police station for further investigations.
Under the able guidance of Police Commissioner T R Suresh and DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya, the operation was carried out by the CCB Inspector Sunil Naik and Team. .
