Family of Deceased Delivery Boy Receives ₹4 Lakh Compensation

Mangaluru: The Karnataka State Unorganized Workers’ Social Security Board provided ₹4 lakh compensation to the family of Arjun Poojary, a 21-year-old Swiggy delivery boy who died in a road accident.

Arjun, a resident of Nandigudda, was delivering food on February 24, 2024, when he met with an accident near Jayalakshmi, Bejai. He succumbed to injuries on February 26.

As Arjun had obtained his identity card under the Karnataka State Gig Workers’ Insurance Scheme on February 14, his father, Madigappa Poojary, applied for compensation. Labor Minister Santosh Lad distributed the compensation through the board on September 19.
