Los Angeles, June 16 (IANS) TV personality Farrah Abraham has put her DNA up for sale. Partnering with a site called CelebrityGene.com, the “Teen Mom” star is selling her DNA in the form of $99 vials that can be worn around the neck.
Abraham was paid $30,000 upfront for her DNA sample and she will be getting a 10 percent cut from sales. She was planning to donate half of the salary to the charity Operation Underground Railroad, which helps rescue kidnapped children from slavery, reports tmz.com.
“I’m excited and honoured to partner with Celebrity Gene who has exclusively partnered with some top icons and celebrities in the past,” Abraham wrote in the product’s description.
“When my daughter Sophia had to get a DNA test, it changed her life and created a better future for her,” she added, referring to the paternity test Sophia underwent to prove that the late Derek Underwood is her father.
“I hope my legacy can change the world for younger generations and save them from sex trafficking for a brighter future. I’m proud to be an abolitionist, working with Celebrity Gene on this DNA project I hope will help raise funds to change the world for the better,” added Abraham.
With this, Abraham has joined top icons and celebrities including gangster Al Capone, native American leader and medicine man Geronimo, Michael Jackson, Princess Diana and Elvis Presley who also sold their DNA via the website.
