Feast Day of St Ignatius Loyola at St Aloysius Hr Primary School
Mangaluru: The celebration of the Feast of Ignatius Loyola was held on 30th July 2019 at the school auditorium during the morning hours. The programme began by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song .The Chief guest of the day was Jeeth Milan Roche . The other dignitaries present were our correspondent – Fr Gerald Furtado SJ , Arvind Rao – Vice President PTA , Headmistress – Mrs. Philomena Lewis . The Chief Guest was introduced by Mrs. Anandi D’souza.
In his address Jeeth Roche spoke about the importance of the saplings , its benefits to the humanity and its drawbacks. He requested the students to plant one sapling in their home and to nurture them . He also stressed on the percentage of trees that are being destroyed , and informed them about the impact we are going to face in the future. Correspondent Rev Fr Gerald Furtado summarized the life history of St Ignatius Loyola and also stressed on the importance of planting saplings .
The Eucharistic Celebration was held at the St Aloysius Chapel in the noon where the Catholic students of Primary & High School gathered. The celebrants were Rev Fr Gerald Furtado SJ , Rev Fr. Pradeep Crasta SJ. In his homily he stressed on the values of St Ignatius and asked the students to follow the footsteps of St Ignatius in a small way.
