Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Celebrated at Londa
Londa: Carmelite Friars of Carmel Nivas Londa celebrated the feast of their patroness Our Lady of Mount Carmel at the Holy Family Church Londa.
“Let us imbibe the virtues of Mother Mary, specially the mercy lived and proclaimed by her,” said Fr Teodozio Fernandes OCD. Fr Fernandes was preaching the homily on the theme, “Mary, Mother of Mercy” at the solemn Eucharistic celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Fr Anthony D’Souza OCD, Superior and Parish Priest of Holy Family Church, presided over the Eucharistic celebration and Fr Venil D’Souza OCD concelebrated it. Elaborating on the mercy of Mother Mary by referring to the different passages from the Gospel, Fr Teodozio reminded the faithful of how Mary showed concern and mercy towards her cousin Elizabeth, at the wedding at Cana, etc.
Novenas were held for the preparation for the feast. Br Malvino Alfonso OCD reflected on the Corporal and spiritual works of mercy during the novena. Scapular were blessed and distributed after the festal mass.
