Feast of Patron Saints, St Joachim and St Anne Celebrated at Father Muller Charitable Institutions

Mangaluru: The Father Muller Charitable Institutions Celebrated the festal mass of its patron saints, Joachim and Anne (parents of Mother Mary and grandparents of Jesus Christ) on 26 July 2019 at 7:30 am.

With the heaven’s open with a downpour of rain the festivities of the patron saints began with a festal mass led by Rev Dr Ronald Serrao, Rector, St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu as the main celebrant. In his Homily, Fr Ronald highlighted the importance of the family and the institution of healing and comfort. The parents of Mother Mary were known as humble and virtues people who fervently prayed to God. They were childless and St Anne was past the childbearing age, but through devout faith in God bore a girl child, Mary. He preached that one must rely on God and never lose faith because it is the essence of all healing. The Father Muller Charitable institutions have been and will be carrying forward the mission of healing and comfort with its able Directors and Administrators. His underlying message throughout the homily was of healing and comfort, which is engraved in the banner of the institution. He prayed that the Almighty heal and comfort all minds and bodies working or being treated in this institution.

The offertory procession was led by the staff of the institution; the liturgy was arranged by Fr Felix, Chaplain of the institution. The Director Rev Fr Richard A Coelho, at the end of the service, thanked the gathering for attending the Eucharistic celebration and the institutional heads, faculty and staff for their untiring work. He thanked the choir for their melodious hymns, the sisters who decked the altar and the guest priests who came to concelebrate.
