Federation of World Bunts Association to Build 18 Homes for Poor in 8 Months
Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons Chairman of Federation of world Bunts Association Harish Shetty said, “We have received 18 applications from poor people and homes will be built for them within eight months on the land donated by Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, located in Karnire Village, located 38 kms from Mangaluru. Each house will be built in a 4 cents land and will have all the facilities. The intention of the Federation is to provide homes for those who are unable to build their house on their own”.
He further said, “Regarding the social services by the Federation, we have already helped nearly 39 families having financial issues; we have given scholarships to nearly 1000 students, and have extended monetary benefits to ten women for their wedding ceremony expenses. A total of 30 families suffering from various diseases were provided with medical aid for their treatment. Recently we donated Rs 2 lakhs to the DC’s fund towards the Flood Victims in Kodagu and Kerala. In total, Rs one crore has been spent by the Federation in constructing houses, education, health care of the poor people in the last six months”.
During the press meet, the members of the Federation disbursed certificates to the beneficiaries who have received financial help. Secretary Vijaya Prasad Alva, Treasurer Kolladi Balakrishna Rai, and Joint Secretary Jayaka Shetty of the Federation of World Bunts Association were present among many others.
