Fifth Harmony announces hiatus to pursue solo careers
Los Angeles, March 20 (IANS) All girls band Fifth Harmony has decided to go on an indefinite hiatus to pursue solo careers.
The four-piece girl group took to their official social media accounts to announce the news, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“After six years going hard, non stop, we also realised that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavours,” the band wrote on Monday.
The band consists of Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui. Earlier, Camila Cabello was also a part of it until her departure from the group on December 18, 2016.
The members have said pursuing solo careers would allow them to “gain experiences, strengths and perspectives that we can bring back to our Fifth Harmony family”.
For their fans, they wrote: “With your love and encouragement we will continue to build on ourselves, support one another in everything we do, and keep making you proud, each other proud and ourselves proud.”
The girl group, which was formed on “The X Factor (US)”, did not announce how long the hiatus would go on, but they said they “do have some upcoming shows through the end of the year which will still happen as planned.”
