Finale of ‘Pavitraatma Abhishekotsava 2017’
Mangaluru: Most Rev Dr Bernard Moras the Archbishop of Maras the Arch-Diocese of Bangalore as part of the concluding programme of the Convention released the souvenir and fifty balloons in memory of the fifty years of Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church. He then offered the Holy Mass concelebrated by Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza the Bishop of Mangalore, Bishop Lawrence Mukkuzhy of Belthangady and Bishop Jerald Lobo of Udupi and 110 number of priests.
In his address he said that the Catholic Church has experienced the power of Holy Spirit powerfully during the last fifty years. Thanks to the gift of the Renewal because of which the Catholic Church is enriched with innumerable spiritual gifts. The Clergy, Religious and Lay faithful have discovered the true meaning of their call and started to live accordingly.
Bishop Lawrence Mukkuzhy the Episcopal Advisor spoke on the power of the Holy Spirit. Fr Franklin D’Souza of Shimoga Diocese preached on Mother Mary as model to Christians. Because of Mother Mary’s ‘YES’ Jesus the Son of God became a human being like us and revealed the mercy and love of God to the humanity. Fr Jose Vettiankle the Director of Logos, Bangalore conducted the Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament.
25,000 people participated in the worship. Fr Onil D’Souza the convener of the programme compered the days programme. Fr Melwyn Noronha the Spiritual Director of the Service Team proposed the Vote of thanks.
