FIR Filed Against Robert Rosario for Spreading Distorted Facts on Social Media
Mangaluru: The Kadri police have registered an FIR against one, Robert Rosario after Deepak D’Souza from Attavar filed a complaint on May 11, for allegedly accusing Catholic priests for their involvement in the church attacks in 2008.

Deepak D’Souza in his complaint mentioned, “Robert Rosario is spreading distorted facts to confuse the voters and create a rift within the Catholic community and hatred between other religious communities and the Catholic community.”
The complaint further states that as per the model code of conduct, distorted facts cannot be published to confuse the voters, besides creating enmity between various religious communities. Robert Rosario, who is an activist of the BJP party, is spreading false news. He has created a video with his statements accusing the Christian priests regarding the Church attacks which took place in September 2008. He has also accused Catholic priests regarding many other matters so that Hindu voters get an ill feeling and vote for BJP.
“Robert Rosario’s statement has been inciting religious hatred against the entire Catholic community, besides rift with other major religious communities, with the intention to create communal disharmony. The entire statement/publication made by him in the video will create a hatred among communities, besides ridiculing the clergy. His statements have been made in such a way to indicate that all Catholics have joined hands together to bring the Congress government to power. As a matter of fact, all the accusations made by him are false, baseless and without any substance.”
The complaint concludes, “Therefore to prevent further damage to communal sentiments and rift between various communities and to avert communal disharmony and disarray of law and order situation, stern action should be taken against him.”
The Kadri police have registered an FIR against Robert Rosario under section 153(A) of the IPC.
