First C-Section Delivery in Dist: Covid-19 Positive Woman gives Birth to Healthy Baby in Udupi
Udupi: A COVID-19 positive woman gave birth to a healthy baby at the TMA Pai COVID hospital here on June 17.
The woman was reportedly tested positive for coronavirus after she came in contact with a COVID-19 patient who had returned from Maharastra. While she was being treated in the COVID hospital, last night, she developed labour pain and gave birth to a healthy baby, who has tested negative for the coronavirus.
According to the chief of COVID hospital Dr Shashikiran, a COVID-19 positive mother, has given birth to a healthy child. She needed an emergency C-Section, which was carried out under the close supervision of the Medical Superintendent. This is the first such C-Section delivery case in the district. The mother is stable, and the newborn is healthy and has tested negative for the virus.”
