Mangaluru: The first electric traction train from Mangaluru – Chennai Superfast departed at 16:20 hrs from the Central Railway station here on March 31.

Hereafter the Mangaluru – Chennai superfast train will be hauled by an electric engine.

This is the first regular train that is going to run from Mangaluru with an electric engine after the electrification of Charvathur – Mangaluru Section.
