Fish Merchant assaulted with Machete at Subhash Nagar, injured
Mangaluru: A 50-year-old man was seriously injured after he was assaulted with a machete by three unidentified men at Subhash Nagar second cross, Pandeshwar here on December 30.
The injured has been identified as Salim (50), a resident of Subhash Nagar, Pandeshwar. Salim is a fish merchant by profession.
According to sources, on December 30, at around 5:30 am, Salim was going to the old port at Bunder from his apartment at Abish Homes, Subhash Nagar. While he was starting his bike to go to Bunder, three unidentified men attacked him with a machete. Out of the three one was wearing a helmet.
Salim was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries on his leg. It is learnt that last month an attempt was made to attack him but Salim had escaped unhurt. In this connection, a case was registered in the Pandeshwar police station. After the attack, the miscreants fled from the spot.
The Pandeshwar police have reached the spot for investigations. A case has been registered in the Pandeshwar police station.
