Fishermen Community and Bhajana Mandalis hold Colourful ‘Hore Kanike’ Procession for Paryaya
Udupi: In preparation of the Paryaya Mahothsava of Sri Eshapriya Theertha Swamiji, fishermen community of Malpe and the Bhajana Mandlis of Malpe held a colourful ‘Hore Kanike’ procession on January 15 from Malpe.
Sri Esha Priya Theertha Swamiji of Admar Math flagged off the Hore Kanike procession. More than 100 vehicles took part in the procession. The Hore Kanike procession included Chande, Saxophone troupe, Tableaux and other cultural troupes. The Procession passed through Malpe, Kalmadi, Karavali Bypass, Jodukatte, Diana Road, KM Marg and culminated near Sri Krishna Math.
Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, DK and Udupi district fish sellers’ federation president Yaspal Suvarna, G Shanker family trust promoter Nadoja G Shanker and others were present.
