Five Arrested in Electric Cable Theft Case
Mangaluru: The Bajpe police have arrested five people in connection with the theft case on September 17.
The arrested have been identified as Arif alias Mohammed Arif alias Munna (28) from Kinnigoli, Ramlan Iddin alias Kamal (20) from Kinnipadav Bajpe, Azharuddin alias Azar (23) from Kalavaru, Abdul Hameed alias Adramonu (24) from Yekkar and Mohammed Hakim alias Akki (21) from Kenjar.
According to police, the accused stole electric wires that were stored by Trimurthy company near Kenjar Mudai Math for railway work.
The police seized the electric wires worth Rs 2 lakh and an Omni car bearing registration number KA 21 P 0479 from their possession. All the accused are involved in various crimes and cases have been registered against them in various police stations.
Under the direction of Police commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth and ACP Rajendra D S, the operation was carried out by the Bajpe police inspector S Parashivamurthy, PSI Shankar Nayari, ASI Poovappa, ASI Ramachandra, ASI Janardhan Gowda, HC Prakash Murthy, Chandra Mohan, Rajesh, Bharath, Sashidhar, Premanand and Laxman Kamble.
