Five including 2 Minors arrested for Stealing Gold Ornaments worth Rs 15 Lakh in Ullal

Mangaluru: The Ullal police have arrested five youths including two minors in connection with the theft case at Dharmanagar, Ullal on July 6.

The arrested have been identified as Shreyas and Tauseef from Belthangady and Prithviraj from Urwa.

According to the police, the owner of the house, Sridhar filed a complaint on June 28 at the Ullal police station regarding the theft of 32 sovereigns of gold that was kept in his bedroom Cupboard between June 8 to 16, 2024.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered under Section 380 at the Ullal police station.

The Ullal police inspector Balakrishna and his team investigated the case and arrested five youths including two minors. Police seized the gold from various jewelry shops which the accused had sold in the city worth Rs 15 lakhs.

Under the direction of the Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal, and the able guidance of DCP Law & Order Siddharth Goyal, DCP Crime and Traffic B P Dinesh Kumar, and ACP South Dhanya Nayak, the operation was carried out by the Ullal police inspector Balakrishna and team.

The accused were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody. A petition has been filed in the JJ court against the minors involved in the crime.
