FKCA to Confer Awards on Paul Moras, Corrine and Vivek Aranha
Bengaluru: Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations® will be conferring the awards to three eminent personalities for their achievements, contribution to the community and the society at large. The awards will be conferred on the 4th of February 2018, Sunday at 4:30 pm at Good Shepherd Auditorium, Museum Road, Opp. St. Patrick’s Church, Richmond Town, Bengaluru.
Paul Moras for Lifetime Achievement Award. He is an eminent personality and well known Konkani Activist, literature, researcher and social worker.
He has rendered service to the Konkani Community for the last 3 decades. He has also published Konkani research volumes and several research articles. His books have been selected for higher studies in Goa and Mangalore universities. He has also been awarded by the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, Government of Karnataka.
Corrine Antoinette Rasquinha for Professional Excellence Award. She is the founder of White Doves, NGO based at Mangalore. A good Samaritan, leader, she is a name people in Mangalore are happy to hear, providing shelter, rehabilitation and more to the destitute street people without discrimination of caste, creed and gender.
She has changed thousands of lives who were in need and reunited many destitute with their family members. White Doves runs two homes for destitute in Dakshina Kannada districts. Her NGO has been recognized by local administrations and national, international associations etc.
Vivek Aranha, Chairman, Rosary Education Group, Pune for Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Vivek Aranha, Chairman Rosary Education Group Pune -a multifaceted personality – is the head of Second generation Aranha family. The Aranha family is the pioneers in the field of Education for the past 58 years.
Vivek Aranha – born in the family of educationalists, is a multifaceted personality with a masters degree in Education/Sociology and English from the Pune University- a rank holder in his Post Graduate degrees. Started in a small way in 1958, with one school, Rosary Education Group blossomed into a vast Institution with 8 Schools, 2 Colleges and a Teachers Training Institute under his leadership. Rosary has on its roll more than 10000 students.
Federation Day celebrations also include cultural programme, dance, music and a Konkani drama “Yours Obediently” by Arun Raj and team.
Justice P Vishwanatha Shetty, Lokayukta, Karnataka State will be the Chief Guest. Ivan D’Souza, Chief Whip to the Karnataka Legislative Council, J R lobo, MLA, Mangaluru South Constituency and R Sampath Raj, Mayor –Bengaluru City will be the Guests of Honour. Dr Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bengaluru, will be presiding over the 21st Federation Day Celebrations.
