Follow Lockdown orders or Face Action – DC Sindhu Roopesh
Mangaluru: “The Coronavirus is spreading around the world very fast every day. This is not new to us since we have been hearing about it for past two months. Our country is also witnessing positive cases now. On March 22, there was a positive case in our Dakshina Kannada district. There have been many positive cases in our neighbouring district. By taking all this into consideration we have announced the lockdown of the District until March 31”, said the deputy commissioner Sindhu Roopesh in her video message on March 23.
DC Sindhu further said, “People are not following the guidelines of the government and we have received many complaints that the people have kept their shops open. I request everyone to seriously adhere to the government guidelines and cooperate in controlling the spread of COVID – 19”.
DC Sindhu also said, “On March 22, we successfully observed the Janata Curfew but within a day the virus will not disappear and we shouldn’t think that we are safe. Anyone may get affected by the virus if they are careless. We should all strictly follow the government order. If this situation reaches the community transmission stage it will be a disaster. I request all to avoid unnecessary travelling and stay at home to be safe. All businesses and shops should be closed for a few days. If anyone violates the lockdown and section 144, strict action will be taken against them.
